| Designed to accommodate the overflow from selected New York City public schools, the mini-schools represent a new generation of prefabricated modular building. Their varied and colorful surfaces contrast boldly with their yellow, industrial-looking counterparts. Because the mini-schools required approval from the New York City Art Commission, the exterior designs had to be compatible with the surrounding neighborhoods and architectural contexts. |
