Butler Library Renovation
Columbia University
di Domenico + Partners is overseeing construction at Columbia University's Butler Library, a 1934 James Gamble Rogers design. The flagship library is the largest building on the Morningside Heights campus.

The scope of work is part of a larger, much awaited renovation designed by Shepley, Bulfinch, Richardson, and Abbott. Interior work involves renovation of the upper four floors and stacks, the installation of new climate control systems, and construction of a rare books section. Exterior work includes roof replacement, facade repair and cleaning, and reconstruction of the north entrance plaza.

The project goal is to create a 21st century library. New technology will be integrated throughout and interiors will be restored to their original, elegant appearances.
