Downtown Restoration Program
Transit and Urban Planning Studies
di Domenico + Partners has been an active participant in the planning of lower Manhattan since the events of September 11th. dD+P has assisted various agencies as they formulated rebuilding strategies and has provided a wide range of architectural services in support of these efforts.

dD+P worked with the MTA/New York Transit Authority to develop a planning study for the rehabilitation of the currently non-operational Cortlandt Street Station serving the trains on the #1 and #9 lines. The high-profile station will test the feasibility and implementation of the MTA's new system-wide security goals. Moreover, the protective measures put in place here must not only secure the station itself for public reopening but remain flexible enough to be integrated into proposed future plans for the establishment of a Lower Manhattan transportation hub.

dD+P is working with the Port Authority of NY and NJ providing various architectural and urban design responsibilities in coordinating the Downtown Restoration Program. The range of tasks include masterplan studies and analyses, coordination among the PANY&NJ disciplines and subconsultants, and site coordination of the multiple components of the WTC site.
