State of New Jersey 9/11 Memorial
dD+P named Second Place in Competition
di Domenico + Partners was named Second Place in the State of New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Competition, an international two-stage competition for the design of a State Memorial dedicated to the memory of the 691 New Jersey residents lost on September 11, 2001.

dD+P, teamed with Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers, designed a memorial organized around three themes: connection, reflection, and perspective. Led by dD+P Senior Designer Kenji Suzuki, and Partners John di Domenico and Andrew Berger, the goal of the design team was to design a memorial to the New Jersey victims that was meant to reflect an awareness of the larger tragedy. Entitled "Cascading Memory," the design was presented not simply as a commemoration of loss, but in recognition of the processes of grieving, recovery and memorializing.
