Atlantic Avenue Complex
Urban Design Guidelines
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in conjunction with the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and New York City Transit (NYCT) has undertaken an ambitious plan to design a new transportation terminal and upgrade its facilities at Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. The Terminal is a major transportation hub linking three subway stations and the LIRR commuter rail. The MTA plans to construct a prominent Entry Building to the LIRR Terminal along with general station renovations and improvements.

The design guidelines as proposed by di Domenico + Partners were established to ensure that the development's scale, composition, articulation and palette of materials was consistent with the MTA project's architectural context.
