City of Elizabeth Town Center Redevelopment Master Plan The key to the City of Elizabeth's economic revitalization is the redevelopment of the Town Center district. At the heart of the district lies the historic Elizabeth train station which stands as the former and future gateway to this proud city. The redevelopment effort focuses on the revitalization of the Town Center district and all of the city's neighborhoods. The redevelopment plan seeks to create sustainable and livable communities through a wide-ranging set of initiatives. With the assistance of a coalition of public and private interest, governmental and community groups, the Elizabeth Town Center redevelopment plan will create jobs, reinvigorate the city's commercial core, provide recreational and cultural opportunities and spur residential development.
