Grand Opening of Taste NY Bistro at Javits Center

The new Taste NY Bistro at the Jacob K. Javits Center celebrated its grand opening last week. dD+P oversaw the design and provided construction support for the build out. The café, located on the Concourse Level, brings New York State food and beverages to visitors and promotes the state’s agriculture industries to a global audience. The Bistro will enhance the overall hospitality experience for more than two million guests who visit the Javits Center each year. The café offers visitors fresh, locally grown, sourced and crafted food, produce, baked goods and beverages – such as New York State beers, wines and ciders.

The existing space was formerly occupied by a shuttle bus service and was renovated to provide all the amenities required by the client, such as transaction counters, wash/preparation areas, refrigerated display cases and security measures to enclose the café after hours. Design highlights include the bar area which was constructed using reclaimed wood, digital menus and energy efficient LED lighting.

dD+P also completed the new Starbucks kiosk at Javits Center earlier this year and is wrapping up a series of interior renovations to the administration and support areas of the building.
