Fort Hamilton Armed Forces Reserve Center

As part of a design-build team, di Domenico + Partners designed multiple facilities at the Fort Hamilton Army Base in Brooklyn, NY, part of the Army's Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Program. A new 123,000 SF Armed Forces Reserve Center, a 3,500 SF maintenance training building, three storage sheds, a truck wash, and loading ramp were included in the project. The facilities house headquarters, classrooms, arms storage, logistics/supply rooms, maintenance bays, and a kitchen — shared by the Army Reserve, Army National Guard, and the Army Recruiting Command. The top-notch design quality of the facilities was achieved by efficient planning strategies, durable and sustainable material selections, and optimal building performance for low-cost maintenance and operation. Daylighting was also incorporated throughout the buildings.
